‘A notion of light’, a catchy song from the German band Derriére Le Miroir
Today has been grey and rainy all day (well London innit) so why not play some nice darkwave from Germany. This is In Mitra Medusa Inri and the song Crucible
‘Let’s pretend we’re bunny rabbits’ is a great love song by Magnetic Fields. I hadn’t listen to this song for quite a while. It’s a shame, because it makes me very happy listening to
Vive la French coldwave Résistance! and their song ‘Perfect design’
Here is Derriere Le Miroir performing ‘Mirror’ on TV. The year is 1994. Lovely!
In the early 2000 this song used to be one of my all time favourites. It’s Black Tambourine with ‘For ex-lovers only’ and I must say I still love it to bits
It’s actually almost impossible to pick out a song from Boards of Canada. You should listen to their whole albums, but today this track felt really good. It’s called “Happy cycling” and it’s from their album Music has the right to children
Oh dear! This is the first time I’ve listen to this song since I was around 16-17 years old and a wave of old memories just came over me, filled me up in nostalgic euphoria. The band was formed by Edward Ka-Spel (The Legendary Pink Dots) and cEvin Key (Skinny Puppy). Since I was then, as I am now, a big fan of Skinny Puppy, and they’d just split up, I tried to listen to as many side projects I could find with the former members and The Tear Garden was one, and I used to love this song. It is called “In search of my rose”
Here are some dreamy pop to wake up to. Rosa Luxemburg with their song “How could we die”
This is Saint Etienne’s first single “Only love can break your heart”. They are so young here
